Defense Meritorious Service Medal
On May 1, 2020 Stevie was posthumously awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal ("DMSM"). The DMSM is the third-highest award bestowed upon members of the United States military by the United States Department of Defense. The award is for non-combat achievement, and in the order of precedence, it is worn behind the Purple Heart.

The shadowbox portrays Stevie's life journey, depicted in all her coins and awards from her attendance and graduation from the University of Florida, to Officer Candidate School in Newport, Rhode Island, two tours in the Persian Gulf aboard the USS San Jacinto CG56 and USS Gravely CVS107 and various Navy billets. Stevie loved the Navy!
